The B-Omi Experience: An Interactive Class Exploring Homesteading & Land Reconnection
A monthly class at B-Omi Farms · Wendell, NC · 4 Hours
This is our signature monthly homesteading class: a four-hour, hands-on journey through the land, the harvest, and the kitchen. Walk the farm as one of our founders shares the story of what we grow, why we grow it, and how regenerative agriculture and our farm animals work together to keep this land alive and thriving. Then roll up your sleeves and harvest fresh produce straight from the garden; some ingredients you'll use moments later in a guided cooking demo rooted in Haitian tradition, making Pikliz (a pickled condiment that can be used to elevate any dish) and Epis (the aromatic seasoning marinade).
No experience needed. Just come curious, ready to get your hands dirty!
What's included:
Guided tour of the farm, crops, and animal ecosystem
Hands-on garden harvest
Cooking demo: Haitian Pikliz & Epis (each student will go home with a jar of each)
Digital recipe cards
What to wear:
Our farm land is pourous; which also means it can be soft, uneven, and muddy sometimes. We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and layering up since temperatures shift as the day warms. Closed-toe shoes or rain boots are a must, and sunglasses and a hat are highly recommended.
Important Note for Ticket Holders:
If you have any allergies or accessibility needs, please reach out to us at contact@b-omi.com and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
